Ok, simply put, I think that you forgot what attracted you to the
James Bond movies. I understand that you DID like the movie, and just
feel it could've been better. Well, to me it was very good. Some scenes
were a little longer then I would've liked them to be, but all in all, I
found it good.
Why did I like it? Because I watched this movie like I watch any
other Bond movie, wide-eyed and awestruck. I don't care if the plane
scene is a little exagerated, or that some things are a little out of
whack, in whole, the mistakes aren't THAT bad, unlike movies such as
Commando or other REALLY bad action flicks. To me, there's ADVENTURE
movies, and there are BOND movies.
Looks like we also have some disagreements on the cast. Xenia Onatop
(Famke) was a cool character, but I got bored of her and was happy when
she got killed. She had nothing compared to classic villans like Jaws,
Mr. Kidd and the other guy (forgot his name), who used to scare the shits
out of me when I was young (I'm 19 now). Onatop was just cool to watch in
the beginning, and she was beautful, but she's boring in the long run.
She's not the kind of character they could bring back, if they wouldn't
of killed her.

That 'other' guy is Mr. Witt.
As for bringing back Xenia if she hadn't died, it would take a very strong plot
line to make it fly. I am also glad that she is gone, but for different reasons.

Boris was a twit. He was so annoying, not funny. "I AM INVINCIBLE!"
yeah, ok! Wonder why people think BBSers and NETSURFERS get a bad rep
after? hehehe...
For the BMW part, you said that if they don't bring back the car, it
was just an advertising scheme? Well what do you think the Mustang was
doing in Diamonds are Forever? It was to show the Mustang Shelby and to
show how it could handle. If you noticed, they didn't even put any wicked
features on the BMW, just showed it plain, that's what he drove. Also
with the Austin Martin.

But don't forget that the Aston Martin was used in several films, and has almost
become a hallmark for Bond.

I had fun watching this movie (a long time ago, I went opening
weekend) and I was happy that the whole theatre (sold out btw) were Bond
fans. Every single "Bond" things that happened, the drink, Q, the
Presentation, it all got big cheers.

Which just goes to show that it's best enjoyed in large crowds. For those of you
haven't seen it yet, go see it before it leaves the theatre!

I nearly forgot! Pierce Brosnan to me is the definitive 007, right
next to Connery. I mean, Connery is King and he's the face that is burned
into my brain, right next to 007. Moore was good and I never bothered to
watch a Dalton one, since I was mad that it wasn't Brosnan. I look at the
popular actors around now, and Brosnan is the best choice. He's got the
smirk, he's got the manurisms, he's got the voice. He's just BOND.

Brosnan = Bond. Period.
